Healthy Participation
If your dancer has an injury or ongoing issue that limits mobility in ANY way, we ask that you send us an email promptly (before they attend their next class) with the following information:
1. Area of injury (ie; back, ankle, wrist, etc.) with a Specific Diagnosis from a health care provider.
2. Who they are seeing to resolve this and how often (ie: Ortho MD, Sports Medicine MD, PT, etc.- we do not recommend only primary care providers since this is not their specialty) as well as if they have had or will be having imaging (xray, CT scan, MRI).
3. Specific Mobility Restrictions with updated parameters during the course of treatment recommended by an appropriate medical professional (can they bear weight on the injured extremity, can they jump, lift, etc?)
4. Anticipated date of release from any restrictions and follow up plan by an appropriate medical professional
We ask that you please keep us informed of any changes in diagnosis or recommendations as your dancer is working with their medical/rehab team so we know what is safe for your dancer to do, not only in class but also in any rehearsals.
We will also be emailing you with any physical complaints your dancer may come to us with so we can make sure you are aware and can follow up with any issue that may look like it could prevent them from safely participating.
Our instructors do exercise the right to decide if a dancer can safely participate in class or rehearsals once we have either received information on a medical diagnosis or if they make classroom observations that cause concern.
